Driftwood Beach

This beach access is just a few miles from my new residence. I had been in the parking lot before, but I don't believe I had ever gone down to the beach. The park namer was right, there is a lot of driftwood on the beach.

Looks pretty overcast and cloudy this way.......

But is very clear and sunny this way, sounds like a day at the beach.

Strange to come across a pile of almonds, so we left some sunflower seeds to accompany them.

Neptune and Beyond

Another great beach access around ten miles south of my new residence.
Still jellyfish everywhere I decide to step, kinda like dog poop :)
I know there are rocks buried under that sand, there just has to be.

So, which part of this tree is growing toward the sun? One of the most peculiar sights I have seen in quite some time. When living on the edge of the earth, there is no time for evolution, just adaptation. Maybe......

It made my feet numb to just walk across the creek, Daisy couldn't seem to get enough of it!

Such a pretty little bridge. We came back here to retrieve some rocks for my upcoming fire pit. Nice, round river rocks.

From Neptune, we continued south toward Florence. There is a canned food outlet there, so I wanted to check it out (it turned out to be WAY cooler than the one in Lincoln City!). We had to stop at the most picturesque spot on the Oregon Coast at Heceta Head Lighthouse!

There is a park "underneath" the lighthouse that had another beautiful bridge. I think I am beginning to have crushes on bridges, strange.

Bob Creek Wayside

Bob Creek Wayside had a lot of exposed rock, potential agate country. We made it down to the beach, didn't find any agates, but it turned out to be a pretty cool beach, despite the deficiency of agates.
Such as these huge rocks that we came upon.

Pretty green moss.

Just past the pretty moss, and the giant rocks, we stumbled upon a giant cave! I love caves, even though this one looked a little scary. There was a lot of water pouring into it, I have to assume/hope it is run off from the highway, which was directly above us. It was really dark inside, but there was a ton of driftwood that had washed inside.

It was a beautiful sunset from inside!

I dared myself to walk underneath this rock on the way back. It wasn't as scary as it looks.

Sunset In California???

You wouldn't think we were down at Nye Beach right now to watch the sunset, it looks like we are in California. There was sooooooo many people down on the beach. It didn't appear to be anywhere we could go to get some "alone time".

Very close up of a log. It really is magical what the ocean can do to plant cells.

I suppose I can understand why there were so many people on the beach, this is a beautiful sunset. I have decided I like a sporadic cloud to reflect the pink sky. I will settle for a super clear night though.

Daisy is board and tired of watching sunsets I think.

Jered is still flabbergasted at the amount of people that are on the beach.

It looked like a giant spider as I was walking up to it, but it ended up being a helpless piece of driftwood.

This rock is just beginning to become exposed. Most of the summer is is completely buried. By the end of the spring it will be a huge rock that you have to jump up on it. Tall enough Daisy won't hop up unless she has some help.

We climbed up to a ledge to watch the rest of the sunset.

Daisy even humored us and attempted to not act board while we were enjoying the view.

And a beautiful view it was!
